Veterans Day Ceremonies Sunday, Parade Steps Off At 1:30
Sunday veterans ceremonies begin in cemeteries, where wreaths are laid and Taps played. The Town Green ceremony is at 1, the parade at 1:30.
BRANFORD, CT — The annual Veterans Day Parade is Sunday, Nov. 10 with parade ceremonies beginning at 1 at the Town Green. The parade steps off at 1:30 at the Green and heads west to North Harbor Street. The Town of Branford hosts the annual event to honor all those who have served in the US military.
But the day begins with Taps and wreath-laying ceremonies in cemeteries across town. A Naval memorial service will be held at 12:15 at the South Montowese Bridge with a Naval prayer.
The ceremony at the Green will include the National Anthem sung by Leah Witten and accompanied by the Branford High School band. The parade master of ceremonies is US Army Capt. Vincent Giordano, the review committee is made up of local and state official. The parade includes the Stony Creek Fife and Drum Corps, the high school band, Boy and Girl Scout troops, the Totoket Ancient Fife and Drum Corps and Branford fire companies, among many others
