Waste Tech Family Refuse & Recycling Takes Over Branford Collection

Your collection days will remain the same as Waste Tech takes on Branford's curbside collection.

On July 1, Waste Tech Family Refuse & Recycling took over as the Town of Branford's curbside hauler. According to the Solid Waste & Recycling's website, your collection days will remain the same, and at no time will you go without trash pick up, but the time of your collection may be slightly different as the route they have established for their crew may be different than the hauler previously used.

"We are asking for your patience during this transition period, and as always, please make sure your containers are to the curb before midnight of your collection day," stated the website.

Weekly cardboard pick-up was also added to services this week with unlimited amounts of corrugated cardboard with your weekly recycling collection. Residents no longer need to store their cardboard for the monthly large cardboard day.

Cardboard should be flattened, cut into pieces small enough that would fit into your blue recycling bins and bundled. Unlimited amounts of cardboard that do not need to be broken down are accepted at the Transfer Station.

Due to the increased amount of recyclables now accepted with your weekly curbside collection, secondary recycling bins are available at the Transfer Station.

Also, as a reminder, the Transfer Station will be closed on Thursday, July 4 and reopen on Friday, July 5. Garbage/recycling collections scheduled for Thursday, July 4 will be delayed one day and picked up on Friday.
