1 Injured, 3 Homes Damaged In Overnight Fairfield Fire
Neighbors called 911 while the residents of the home where the fire originated were asleep, unaware their house was ablaze.

FAIRFIELD, CT — One person was injured and a Fairfield family was displaced by a fire in the early morning hours Saturday.
Emergency personnel received multiple reports of the blaze just after midnight from neighbors of a home in the 200 block of Ruane Street, according to a fire department news release. When crews arrived at the scene minutes later, they found heavy smoke and flames in the back of the house.
The wind-driven blaze quickly spread to two neighbors’ homes, but was brought under control by 1 a.m., with 44 firefighters from Fairfield and Bridgeport responding to the scene, the news release said.

“There is no doubt that the quick actions of the neighbors activating the 911 system and alerting sleeping residents in this home saved their lives,” Assistant Chief Roger Caisse said in the news release.
One elderly resident was taken to Bridgeport Hospital for burns that were not believed to be life-threatening.
