Fairfield police are investigating the fatal crash.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A 14-year-old boy has died after he was involved in a Fairfield crash while driving an SUV stolen from Westport, according to police.
The incident began just after 8 a.m. Monday, when Westport police received a report that a gray 2019 Honda Pilot had been stolen from a gas pump at the Exxon station at 1510 Post Road East while the driver was paying inside, according to a joint news release from the Fairfield and Westport police departments.
Minutes later, a Westport officer tried to stop the SUV after it was spotted near Turkey Hill Road and Post Road East, but the officer disengaged because the driver was speeding and being reckless, according to police.
