16 Coronavirus Cases Reported At Fairfield Schools In Past Week

More than 120 students and staff across the school district were in quarantine Friday, according to district data.

FAIRFIELD, CT — The Fairfield school district reported 16 new coronavirus cases among staff and students in the past week.

The 16 cases included six cases at Fairfield Ludlowe High School, four at Fairfield Warde High School, and one each at Dwight, Roger Sherman, Riverfield and McKinley elementary schools, according to messages from school district officials sent to staff and parents throughout the week. A district employee who works at both Burr and Stratfield elementary schools tested positive for the virus, as did a fully remote student.

The only positive test that resulted in any kind of closure was the case at Riverfield, where in-person learning for fifth-grade Cohort B was canceled Thursday to allow for contact tracing.
