Another Coronavirus Case Reported At Fairfield Ludlowe

The case disclosed Friday marks the third to be reported this week among the high school's student population.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Another Fairfield Ludlowe High School student has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to school officials.

The student was in quarantine at the time of diagnosis, according to a message from the school district sent Friday to parents and staff.

“There is no need for anyone else at FLHS to self-quarantine and school will remain open,” said the message from Superintendent Mike Cummings and COVID-19 Health and Safety Compliance Liaison Angelus Papageorge.

The positive test disclosed Friday was the third case parents were notified about this week among the Fairfield Ludlowe student population. Additionally, Riverfield and Holland Hill elementary schools were closed in recent days for the duration of the week after a staff member at each school tested positive, and a case was reported at Tomlinson Middle School.

As of 10 a.m. Friday, four students and three staff members across the district were confirmed to have the virus, according to district data. Another 24 students and one staff member had recovered after testing positive. Cases within the district were contained to Fairfield Ludlowe, Fairfield Warde High School, Tomlinson, Riverfield and Holland Hill.

Additionally, 56 students and staff district-wide were in quarantine Friday. Community members at a total of 13 district sites had tested positive, were in quarantine or both.
