Baby Turkeys Rescued, Reunited with Mother in Fairfield

Mechanics at the Fairfield Public Works garage helped reunite the baby turkeys with their mother on Wednesday morning.

Fairfield, CT — Mechanics at the Fairfield Public Works garage rescued 11 wild baby turkeys and reunited them with their mother on Wednesday morning, according to the Fairfield Citizen.

The Citizen reports the baby turkeys, known as poults, had scattered when the Animal Control officer tried to get them in a box and hid behind snow plows and other equipment.

The mechanics were able to wrangle up the poults and reunite them with their mother, who was seen walking back and forth on the garage roof and flying into nearby trees, according to the Citizen.
