Bus With Students On Board Strikes Parked Car: Fairfield Police

No one was injured, according to Fairfield police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A bus with students on board struck a parked car earlier this week in Fairfield, according to police.

Officers responded about 4 p.m. Monday to Lewis Drive for a report of a school bus that hit a vehicle and left the scene, police said. When the officers arrived, the bus had returned, according to police.

The crash occurred after the bus had been waiting for cable crews to clear the road, police said. Once cleared to proceed, the bus struck the car with its rear passenger side, according to police. The driver told officers he did not immediately realize he had hit the vehicle and that he didn’t feel or hear anything while driving, police said.

The car was dented and scratched, while the bus had minor scratches, according to police, who said the bus driver was not injured, nor were any of the students.
