Cafeteria Worker Tests Positive For Virus; Students Sent Home
Fairfield Woods Middle School is dismissing students early after a cafeteria worker tested positive for the coronavirus.
FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield Woods Middle School is dismissing students early Monday after a cafeteria worker tested positive for the coronavirus.
Buses were set to begin picking up students at 12:30 p.m., school board Secretary Jessica Gerber said in a Facebook post. The early dismissal was due to the district's inability to serve lunch, according to Director of Communications Andrea Clark, who said Fairfield Woods would reopen Tuesday.
"There was absolutely no student contact," Clark said in an email. "Two other staff members were identified as being close contacts and are in quarantine."
