Cooling Centers Open As Temperatures Climb In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, CT — As temperatures rise in Fairfield, the senior center and police department are offering residents a place to cool off.
The Bigelow Center for Senior Activities was open as a cooling center 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday at 100 Mona Terrace, according to a Facebook post from the police department, which said the lobby of Fairfield police headquarters at 100 Reef Road was also available to people looking to keep cool.
The cooling centers will remain available to the public for the duration of the ongoing heat wave, according to Lt. Antonio Granata.
