
The League of Women Voters (LWV) of Fairfield held a Legislative Forum today at the Fairfield Museum and History Center. Fairfield State Representative Cristin McCarthy Vahey (D-133) was among the Fairfield legislators who spoke at the event held to review the end of the recent state 2017 Legislative Session. It was moderated by Bryce Perry, LWV Community Leader.
McCarthy Vahey thanked Town of Fairfield residents for participating in the past legislative session in Hartford. “We are so blessed in Fairfield to have so many people come to Hartford to bring ideas and solutions,” stated State Representative Cristin McCarthy Vahey. “Thank you for your participation,” she added.
State Representative McCarthy Vahey highlighted her work on bills including HB 7316 which requires evaluation of tax incentive programs; a bill addressing Uber / Lyft consumer protections; Healthy Trees along limited access highways that she co-sponsored with State Representative Brenda Kupchick (R-132); and Expanded Child Safety Car Seat Standards, which was spearheaded by Rep. Kupchick.
