Construction began this spring on a new Arena & Convocation Center that is being built on the current site of Alumni Hall.

FAIRFIELD, CT —The demolition of one of the longest standing buildings on Fairfield University’s campus, Alumni Hall, will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, April 26.

The original Alumni Hall architect, John Phelan, will be onsite for a final walk through of the building, accompanied by Fairfield University President Mark R. Nemec, PhD, Vice President Marketing & Communications Jennifer Anderson, and Vice President for Facilities Management David Frassinelli.

Under Frassinelli’s leadership, Fairfield’s modern campus has evolved and expanded. The Frassinelli family has had a long association with the University, starting with the construction of Xavier and Berchmans Halls in the 1940s. They built most of the buildings up to the 1980s, about one million square-feet.
