FAIRFIELD, CT — Three people were injured Thursday after a driver missed a stop sign and collided with an SUV, according to police.
Officers responded to the scene just after 5 p.m. at Stillson and Fairfield Woods roads, police said. A Ford Escape going east on Stillson Road failed to stop at Fairfield Woods Road, hitting a south-facing Mazda CX5 that was beginning to turn left onto Stillson Road, according to police.
After striking the Mazda, the Ford came to rest in the front yard of a nearby home, crushing a mailbox and post, police said. The Mazda swung counterclockwise and stopped in the eastbound lane of Fairfield Woods Road, according to police.
