Driver Severely Injured After I-95 Rollover In Fairfield
Firefighters removed the roof of the affected vehicle, which saw heavy damage, and extricated the trapped and severely injured driver.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A driver is hospitalized in serious condition after a rollover at an Interstate 95 ramp in Fairfield, according to fire officials.
The incident occurred about 1:15 p.m. Sunday on northbound I-95 at the Exit 19 entrance ramp, a news release from the fire department said. Firefighters removed the roof of the vehicle, which saw heavy damage, and extricated the trapped and severely injured driver, according to the department.
Paramedics and firefighters worked together to provide emergency care on scene and en route to Bridgeport Hospital, the news release said.

“Our firefighters did an amazing job at this incident,” Assistant Chief George Gomola said in the news release. “They worked quickly and effectively to provide immediate lifesaving emergency medical care to the driver, remove him safely from the vehicle and into the ambulance.”
The interstate was backed up for hours in both directions due to the rollover, according to the news release, which said the incident is being investigated by Connecticut State Police.
