The closures come after Tropical Storm Elsa dropped an estimated 5 inches of rain on Fairfield.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield swimming areas will be closed through the weekend after Tropical Storm Elsa dropped an estimated 5 inches on the town.

"Due to significant rainfall amounts within the last 24 hours the Health Department will extend the current swimming area closures," according to an email to residents from department Director Sands Cleary.
