Fairfield Bus Driver, Warde Student Test Positive For Coronavirus

A worker in the school district's central office also tested positive for the virus, according to Fairfield school officials.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Several new coronavirus cases were reported Wednesday across the Fairfield school district.

People who recently tested positive include a bus driver for Roger Ludlowe Middle School and Osborn Hill Elementary School, a Fairfield Warde High School student and a worker in the district’s central office, according to a message from Superintendent Mike Cummings and COVID-19 Health and Safety Compliance Liaison Angelus Papageorge.

Contact tracers determined no students qualified as close contacts of the bus driver, meaning students will not need to quarantine, the message said. The Warde student had already been quarantined, and had not been in the school building since Monday. The office employee had not been in to work since Friday.
