Fairfield Fireworks Postponed Due To Rain Forecast

The fireworks display has been rescheduled for Monday.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield will celebrate the Fourth of July a few days later than originally scheduled, as storms in the weekend forecast led town officials to postpone the Fairfield Independence Day Fireworks Show to Monday after it was originally set for Saturday.

Rain is predicted throughout the weekend in Fairfield, according to the National Weather Service, with a 70 percent chance of precipitation Saturday night, and showers and thunderstorms likely.

Entertainment for the event will now start 6 p.m. Monday at Penfield and Jennings beaches, and fireworks will begin about 9:15 p.m.
