Fairfield Hawk Attack Update: Officials Remove Nests
Three hawk nests were reportedly removed as the number of attacks continues to rise.

FAIRFIELD, CT — As the number of residents reporting being attacked by hawks continues to grow, Fairfield Animal Control officers, with help from firefighters, removed three hawk nests on Wednesday, according to the Fairfield Citizen.
The Citizen reports that local officials can remove the nests without receiving special permission from state or federal agencies as long as there are no eggs in the nests, which was the case with the ones that were dislodged on Wednesday.
Reports of hawk attacks began to surface last Friday when a man was attacked by a hawk in front of his Sturges Road home and a mail carrier reported being attacked by a hawk on Sycamore Lane.
Other incidents have been reported on Old Mill Road and hawks have apparently been nesting in trees on Sycamore Lane, according to the Citizen.
