FAIRFIELD, CT — A Fairfield man was recently charged after a months-long investigation into allegations that he was dealing narcotics, according to police.
Kevin Chesney, 35, of Kings Highway East, was arrested and charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell — a felony — and narcotics possession, police said.
Law enforcement received information in July that Chesney was involved with drug sales in Fairfield, according to police, who said that months of search warrants, undercover operations and surveilled drug purchases revealed that Chesney was selling cocaine in town, according to police.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Chesney and search warrants for his apartment and vehicle, police said. In the early morning hours of March 4, Chesney was taken into custody while leaving his apartment, according to police, who found 15 baggies of cocaine packaged for sale in Chesney’s vehicle and $2,000 in cash, which was seized from his apartment.
Investigators believe the cash is proceeds from drug sales, said police, who noted that Chesney's state pistol permit and registered firearm were also seized.
