Fairfield Man Accused Of Sexual Assault, Restraint: Police
The man is in custody on a $250,000 bond, according to court records.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A man is accused of sexually assaulting and restraining a person in a Fairfield home, according to police.
Emerson E. Ferreira, 48, of Fairfield, was arrested Tuesday and is charged with first-degree sexual assault and first-degree unlawful restraint, both felonies, as well as disorderly conduct, police said.
Officers responded 2:30 a.m. March 4 to the home after the victim called police to report Ferreira, who was known to the person, had committed the assault and fled, according to law enforcement.

“The police investigation revealed the victim had been physically assaulted, restrained and sexually assaulted by Ferreira,” Lt. Antonio Granata said in an email.
Ferreira turned himself in at the police station after a warrant was issued for his arrest, according to law enforcement. Ferreira is in custody on a $250,000 bond and his next court date is scheduled for April 20, court records said.
