Fairfield Man Arrested On Child Pornography Charge: Stratford Police

The man was arrested on a warrant in connection with an investigation that began in October, according to police.

STRATFORD, CT ? A Fairfield man has been arrested on a child pornography charge in connection with an investigation that began in October, according to Stratford police.

Police said Stratford detectives, using software to target suspects obtaining child sexual abuse material, launched an investigation in October into a suspect in Fairfield.

Detectives from Stratford and Fairfield identified Matthew Wood as the suspect and developed probable cause for an arrest, according to police.

Police said Wood was found to be in possession of a device containing at least 50 images of ?child sexual abuse material.?

Wood, 50, was arrested Dec. 22 and charged with first-degree possession of child pornography.

He was released after posting a $150,000 bond.
