The Museum’s innovative Digital Learning Platform provides in-depth online resources for
students, teachers and caregivers to support the growing demand for remote education. The
investment reinforces Fairfield Museum’s mission to use history and the arts to strengthen the

The priority of phase one of the Museum’s Digital Learning Platform rollout is to support
educators and students in the third and fifth grades through vital, high-quality educational
resources. Third grade content will teach the diverse history of Fairfield’s people, resources and
community development, while fifth grade studies will focus on one of the most defining events
in Fairfield’s history - the burning of Fairfield during the American Revolution. Students will
learn different perspectives and how historic events shaped our community for generations.
Collaborations with local school teachers and administrators along with experienced research
teams ensure that all platform content aligns with Connecticut State Curriculum’s Social Studies
Standards and learning goals while delivering programs that engage with audiences online, at
home and on any device.
The platform’s infrastructure was built for future expansion to support remote learning for all
ages – reaching the home-bound elderly, rural communities, families and schools too far to travel
or without adequate funding for field trips – while enhancing the Fairfield Museum’s ability to
provide engaging cultural and educational activities to meet the needs of a variety of audiences
in the community and beyond.
CultureConnect (www.cultureconnectme.com) partnered with the Fairfield Museum as part of
the company’s Early Access Initiative. The program’s mission is to develop and build the
infrastructure with and for museums and libraries nationwide to provide guidance through
challenges such as the pandemic that allow these organizations to continue to bring educational
and entertaining cultural experiences to the public.
