Fairfield Pharmacy Among 100 Added To CT's Vaccination Program
Several pharmacies in nearby towns were also on the list of new vaccine locations.
FAIRFIELD, CT — More than 100 additional pharmacies throughout the state will begin offering coronavirus vaccines over the next several days, including one location in Fairfield, according to Gov. Ned Lamont.
The Rite Aid at 1619 Post Road in downtown Fairfield was among the new additions, along with several other pharmacies in nearby towns. Existing vaccination locations in Fairfield include a megasite that opened in mid-March on Sacred Heart University's West Campus and regular vaccine clinics run by the town health department.
Notification of the expansion comes one day before vaccine eligibility grows to include all residents between the ages of 16 and 44.

"As we prepare to expand vaccine eligibility to the final group of adults on Thursday morning, there is going to be an initial rush of people who attempt to make appointments during the first couple of days, similar to what we experienced when we expanded to other age groups," Lamont warned.
The governor urged patience, "as new appointments are being added every day."
