Fairfield Police Seek To ID Repeat Vacuum Thief

The man stole thousands of dollars worth of vacuum cleaners from a Fairfield store, according to police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Police are seeking the public’s help to identify a man who stole thousands of dollars worth of vacuum cleaners from a Fairfield store.

Twice in the past week the man has used an employee entrance to walk out of BJ’s Wholesale Club with multiple vacuums, according to police.

The suspect stole five Dyson vacuums worth a total of more than $2,300 at 8 p.m. Sunday from the store at 40 Black Rock Turnpike, triggering an alarm and police response, law enforcement said. By the time officers arrived, the man had fled, according to police.

Law enforcement also received a shoplifting complaint Thursday, when the suspect stole two vacuums worth over $700 from the store, police said.

Both incidents are under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 203-254-4808.
