Fairfield Restaurant To Host Grand Opening

The eatery offers fresh, homemade pasta dishes, pizzas, sandwiches and desserts.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A new restaurant in Fairfield will host a ribbon cutting and grand opening Monday.

Town officials will welcome Sonia’s Gourmet Kitchen — SGK Pizza, Pasta and Catering at the 11:30 a.m. event, which will be officiated by First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick, according to a town news release.

"Our town vaccination clinic and call center staff/volunteers have already had the opportunity to enjoy Sonia’s delicious food," the news release said. "Owner Sonia (Lopez) generously donated wonderful meals and the whole team was incredibly grateful."

Lopez learned to cook with her mother. She uses only the finest ingredients to prepare fresh, homemade pasta dishes, pizzas, sandwiches and desserts. Healthier options like gluten-free pizzas and pastas, and cauliflower crusts, are available. An extensive selection of wines from around the world add to the dining experience.

Located at 881 Post Road, conveniently off of Exit 22 of Interstate 95, SGK has ample parking. Lopez looks forward to guests from Fairfield and beyond enjoying the restaurant's warm and inviting ambiance, including decor that provides a sense of rustic charm and creates a space for friends and family to come together and connect.

“Everyone is welcomed in, including the little ones,” Lopez said in the news release.
