FAIRFIELD, CT — A Fairfield diner is back in business after it was closed for more than a year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Southport Diner reopened Monday, according to the restaurant’s Facebook page. The diner initially opened in 2019, but was forced to close in March 2020 with the onset of the pandemic in Connecticut, according to a Facebook post from owner Tony Pertesis that was shared by the business.

During the closure, Pertesis replaced the air conditioning system and the roof, among other improvements, according to News12.
