Why start a business in this town?
My husband and I moved to Fairfield in 1995, bought a home and have been raising our three children here. I also obtained my Professional Certificate in Interior Design from Fairfield University. Fairfield is a wonderful family-oriented town where people take a lot of pride in their homes. Opening my interior design business here was a natural fit.

What business are you in?
I am a full-service interior designer. My services range anywhere from color consultations to construction plans for a home remodeling project. My most popular design services are space planning, room makeovers, window treatments and adding those final touches and accessories for a finished look. I specialize in professionally designing functional and beautiful environments for families that fit their personality and busy lifestyles.

What’s the most difficult challenge you’ve faced as a business owner?
Balancing my career with the active lives of my three teenagers. However, it’s been a great teaching tool to have them watch me turn my dreams of owning a design business into reality.
Were there any challenges that made you second-guess your decision to be an entrepreneur?
Owning my own business has its challenges and I need to wear many hats on a daily basis. However, I really love what I do and have never looked back.
What’s been your proudest achievement since opening?
My proudest achievement was having a client call me at the end of a project just to say how much she loves her new home and how she is overjoyed every time she walks through the front door. I was thrilled to help her fall in love with her home again!
How does your business give back to the community?
Over the years I’ve donated my design services to local organizations and auctions. I also hope to give back by helping my clients create the home of their dreams.
