FAIRFIELD, CT - From the desk of Fairfield University: Fairfield University’s annual Summer Scholars Program, a two-week residential and academic college experience that offers rising high school seniors and juniors the opportunity to experience campus life as an undergraduate, returns Sunday, July 9, through Saturday, July 22, 2017.
Program applications are available to students with a high school GPA of 3.2 or higher at fairfield.edu/summerscholars and will be accepted through June 30, 2017.
During the course of the two-week program, students will spend their time connecting with professors, meeting new friends, experiencing dorm life and studying fascinating subjects while earning college credits and bolstering their applications. Each summer scholar is required to take one, three-credit course of their choosing that will meet Monday through Friday for three hours a day. Courses are offered in a variety of subjects including biology, communication, economics, English, engineering, psychology and art. Students will be assigned an academic advisor to mentor them throughout the program and will also participate in a series of college prep workshops that include sessions on admission essays, career planning and the college search and application process.
