Fairfield University's Record-Setting Admission Cycle and Class of 2029 Profile Illustrate Growth & Selectivity

With a 15% increase in applications and a 25% admit rate, Fairfield continues to attract exceptional students from across the globe, marking its most selective admission cycle to date.
FAIRFIELD, Conn. (March 24, 2025)?Fairfield University?s analysis of the Class of 2029 profile, highlights a remarkable level of interest that has been a defining element of the 2025 admission cycle.

This year, the University received applications from a highly talented pool of students, representing over 3,410 high schools across 49 states (including D.C. and Puerto Rico) and 92 countries. The total number of applications for the Class of 2029 reached 21,290, marking a 15% increase from last year?s total of 18,502, and a 38% increase from two years ago, when 15,450 applications were received.
This year?s admissions cycle also marks a significant shift in selectivity. With Fairfield?s ongoing commitment to maintaining an incoming first-year class size of 1,450 students, the overall admit rate has decreased to 25%, making this year the most selective admission cycle in recent history. This decrease reflects the strength and competitiveness of the applicant pool, with applicants demonstrating exceptional academic achievement and leadership potential.
Additional Class of 2029 admission statistics include an average weighted GPA of 3.90 and middle 50% SAT range for those who submitted scores: 1310-1420. Students from Jesuit/Cristo Rey Schools made up 517 of admitted students.
