Fairfield Woman Charged With DUI After Crash: Police

The woman lied about her name and had a prescription bottle made out to someone else that contained multiple medications, police said.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Fairfield woman is accused of driving under the influence, along with numerous other charges, after she was involved in a crash and lied to officers about her name, according to police.

Amy Plotkin, 49, of Lloyd Drive, is charged with driving under the influence, criminal impersonation, interfering with an officer, passing on the right, driving with a suspended license, drug possession, and failure to keep prescription narcotics in their original container, a felony, according to police and court records.

Officers were called about 11 a.m. Wednesday to the scene of the crash in the 1700 block of Stratfield Road, police said. Plotkin was the driver of the striking vehicle and was suspected by officers of driving under the influence, according to police. She gave the officers a fake name, and, when she was arrested, police found she had a prescription bottle that did not belong to her and that contained two types of medications, police said.

Plotkin was released on a $10,000 bond and is set to appear in court April 26, according to police.
