Fairfield's Catch A Healthy Habit Cafe Offers Modern Boilermaker
Review of Unique Cafe on Unquowa Road in Downtown Fairfield
Recently met a friend for "coffee or tea" and she suggested Catch A Healthy Habit Cafe at 39 Unquowa Road in Fairfield, near the landmark Community Theater. Previously, I had been having such meetings at nearby Las Vetas Lounge so I was pleased when she suggested someplace else.
Walking into Catch A Healthy Habit Care, it was open and bright thanks to the large picture windows. In some ways, it was stepping back into time... into the Bluebird Diner in Mayberry. The staff was welcoming and accommodating but not intrusive as I awaited my pal.
When my friend arrived, the place turned in to a Cheers like atmosphere and she was busy catching up from a holiday break. Tara is such a regular here that one of the menu items is named after her. The Tara is a green apple, celery, cucumber, kale, romaine and lemon and ginger Smoothie. Of course, she ordered The Tara and accompanied it with a Loaded Ginger Shot comprised of ginger, turmeric, lemon and black pepper. It is the new Boilermaker?

Since I find new places daunting, especially places like Vegan and Vegetarian Cafes and Raw Bars, I looked for something a bit more traditional. After scanning the extensive menu arrived at a Banana Boat. My friend assured me it was delicious because it is her young daughter's favorite! It was made with Almond 'Milk', Bananas, Mesquite Coconut Sugar with optional Strawberries. I opted for the Strawberries, just like Tara's daughter!
My Banana Boat was absolutely delicious and surprisingly filling. It also felt satisfying knowing all the healthy ingredients that were put into my beverage. You could watch the crew make the drinks with fresh ingredients and drinks were all made rather quickly. My goal is to return to try a meal, a Catch a Healthy Habit Cafe offers salads, soups, sandwiches, tacos, pizza, pasta and more! The ones I saw prepared looked delectable.

While we were enjoying our beverages, one of the staff members came and sat with us for a bit to chat with Tara. It is the type of place where the staff becomes friends with the regulars and you become part of their community.
The menu is organic, gluten free, vegetarian, vegan and raw depending upon your preference. For those who are daring, try The Tara and for those who are novices, ask for the Banana Boat.
