Fentanyl, Cocaine Found After Fairfield Shoplifting Report: PD
A man is accused of holding drugs with the intent to sell them, assaulting police and impersonation, according to Fairfield authorities.

FAIRFIELD, CT — What started as a shoplifting report resulted in police finding a large quantity of cocaine and fentanyl packaged for sale, according to Fairfield authorities.
Kevin Anthony Thomas, 34, of the 200 block of Goddard Avenue in Bridgeport, was arrested last month and faces numerous drug and interference charges, police said.
Law enforcement received a report 10:30 p.m. April 26 of a shoplifter at Cumberland Farms, 975 Kings Highway East, according to authorities, who said an employee told them a man entered the store, refused to pay for an item and then left. Police found the man, Thomas, in the parking lot, law enforcement said.

Thomas was verbally abusive and gave officers multiple false birthdays and names, including his brother’s, according to police, who found 56 wax folds of fentanyl and 12 baggies of cocaine in Thomas’s vehicle.
When police tried to take Thomas into custody, he refused, and kicked multiple officers, so authorities called for a law enforcement van to bring Thomas to the station, police said. Upon arrival, Thomas appeared to have a medical emergency and was taken to a hospital, according to police.
