Fired Shelton Cop Joins Fairfield Police Department
Officer Daniel Loris was fired after taking a photo of a fellow officer changing clothes, according to a report.
FAIRFIELD, CT — A former Shelton police officer recently fired amid accusations of ethics violations, sexual harassment and misconduct has joined the force in Fairfield.
Officer Daniel Loris was among four new members of the department to be sworn in Monday, according to a Facebook post from the Fairfield Police Department. He will complete field training and then be assigned to the department’s Patrol Division.
Loris was a K-9 and patrol officer in Shelton. He was named the Connecticut Department of the American Legion’s Connecticut Law Enforcement Officer of the Year before he was terminated in September, according to the Shelton Herald.

Loris was one of several officers fired after an internal investigation of photos showing officers changing clothes in the police station parking lot, according to the Herald. Shelton's police chief said Loris took the photos.
The pictures were taken after the chief limited use of the station’s locker rooms and bathrooms, and set up portable toilets in the parking lot for officers to use, according to the Herald, which reported the photos appeared on a Facebook page associated with the department’s police union.

Loris filed a grievance, which is pending, the Herald reported.
According to Fairfield police Lt. Antonio Granata, Loris underwent the required background, polygraph, medical, physical and psychological evaluations before being offered a job in town.
“He fulfilled all statutory requirements … and was thoroughly examined by the board of police commissioners who found him to be an exceptional candidate,” Granata said in an email.
