Firefighters Save Choking Victim At Fairfield Diner
The two firefighters were at a local restaurant when a customer started to choke.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Two Fairfield firefighters recently acted fast to save a customer who was choking at a local restaurant.
Lt. Bob Smith and Assistant Chief Phil Higgins were at Circle Diner, 441 Post Road, on March 30, when a patron began to choke, according to a news release from Fairfield Fire Fighters Association Local 1426.
Smith and Higgins tried to clear the victim’s airway and continued treatment until an ambulance and additional fire department personnel arrived at the scene, the news release said. The customer was treated at the diner and then taken to a hospital.

“Their quick thinking and decisive action played a vital role in improving the patient’s chances,” the news release said.
