It is even further offensive that this person/group decided to inject hate into a safe space dedicated to bettering our community. I appreciate the Fairfield Racial Equity and Justice Task Force for their work and perseverance. Clearly this organization is needed more today than ever.
These incendiary racist messages shared during a public meeting for the commission and fellow citizens to see were abhorrent. It was not only an attack on specific people’s backgrounds, but an attack on our democratic processes as well.

The culprits will be persecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I am proud that our local police department has their investigation underway. Additionally I am contacting the State Commissioner of Emergency Services and Public Safety, State Police Cybercrime and the FBI with expertise in cybercrime and we will find, arrest and prosecute these cowardly perpetrators.
These tense and emotional times continue in our town, state and country, but I pledge to continue serving as an advocate for every Connecticut resident without exception. I am imploring every person to support and participate in the work toward the common goals of respect, repair and unity.
