I-95 Backed Up For Miles After Truck Accident In Fairfield

The southbound left and center lanes were closed as of about 1 p.m.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Traffic was congested Wednesday on Interstate 95 after an accident involving a tractor-trailer and a vehicle in Fairfield, according to state officials.

The incident occurred on the southbound interstate between Exits 22 and 21, according to the Department of Transportation, which reported I-95 was backed up for 2.5 miles, with the left and center lanes closed as of about 1 p.m. Delays were expected to last an hour or less.
