Sunday, July 21 marks the last day the Field of Flags at Greenfield Hill Church will be on display to commemorate U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The field is made up of 6,700 American flags -- each flag represents one soldier. The field is accompanied by a board listing the names of each casualty.
"We do this so people can remember," Rev. David Johnson Rowe told Patch when setting up the display last month.
Greenfield Hill Church is located at 1045 Old Academy Lane in Fairfield. There is no fee to view the field of flags.
