Lovebird Chicken Expanding To CT With Fairfield Restaurant
In addition to its Fairfield restaurant, set to open later in the summer, Lovebird has three Pennsylvania locations near Philadelphia.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Chick-fil-A isn’t the only chicken restaurant with plans to come to Fairfield. Lovebird, a small fast-casual chain based in Pennsylvania, will soon open its first Connecticut location in town.
The eatery is set to begin serving customers in late summer at 2385 Black Rock Turnpike, formerly home to the Connecticut Cookie Co.
“We found Fairfield to be an ideal town due to its vibrant energy and dynamic food scene,” Lovebird managing partner Stephanie Wilson, and owner and founder John Ordway said in an email.

In addition to its Fairfield restaurant, Lovebird has three Pennsylvania locations near Philadelphia in Doylestown, Newtown and Bryn Mawr.
“It’s pretty exciting — I mean, it’s the first location outside of Pennsylvania,” Fairfield Community and Economic Development Director Mark Barnhart said.

Wilson, a 22-year resident of Fairfield County, and Ordway touted Lovebird’s high quality ingredients and made-to-order menu. Offerings include cage-free Amish chicken served on its own or in sandwiches, salads and bowls. In addition to fried and grilled chicken, Lovebird’s menu features miso-garlic tofu as a vegetarian protein option.
“I’m anxious to give it a try,” Barnhart said. “It’s a nice fit, and hopefully they’ll do very well here.”
Lovebird is in the process of hiring kitchen and counter staff for the Fairfield location, as well as management.
