Make Music Day Returns To Fairfield Next Week
As of Monday, the event roster included 48 performances at 17 venues across town.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Make Music Day will return Monday to Fairfield. The event is a free, outdoor music festival celebrated worldwide on the Summer Solstice each year, and will run noon to 9 p.m. in town.
“I am excited for the return of live music and hope residents enjoy the local musicians who will be performing," First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick said in a town news release. "I want to thank everyone who worked to put this fantastic day together for the benefit of our community.”
Make Music Day will kick off noon at Sherman Green Gazebo with a special event called “This Moment in Time.” Chris Frantz, author of the bestselling memoir “Remain in Love” and Tina Weymouth, both of the Talking Heads, will join musicians around the world in ringing gongs to mark the incalculable loss of the year. The initiative memorializes the devastation of the coronavirus pandemic while also celebrating the hopefulness of the future and the reemergence of live music.
