Man Accused Of Burglary After Trio Look For Unlocked Cars: Cops

The man had a wallet that was found to have been stolen from a vehicle parked in a driveway, according to Fairfield police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Bridgeport man is accused of burglarizing a vehicle in Fairfield, according to police.

Terrel Deandre Durant faces several charges after law enforcement received a report just before 2 a.m. Dec. 1 that three people were checking the handles of empty vehicles on High Street, police said.

Officers searched the area and found two people on nearby Meadowcroft Road: a juvenile and Durant, who is 19 and lives on Maplewood Avenue, according to police. Durant had a wallet that was determined to have been stolen from a vehicle parked in a driveway on Meadowcroft Road, police said.

He was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree trespassing and sixth-degree larceny, according to police. Durant, who has yet to enter a plea, is free on a promise to appear in court, court records said. His next court date is scheduled for Jan. 28.

The juvenile found with Durant was summoned to appear in court in the presence of a family member, according to police.
