Man Accused Of Forgery After Incident At Fairfield Pharmacy: Cops

A New York man faces several charges after he tried to fill a forged prescription at a Walgreens in Fairfield, according to police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A New York man faces several charges after he tried to fill a forged prescription at a Walgreens in Fairfield, according to police.

Julio Romero attempted to use forged paperwork to pick up a prescription Dec. 14, police said. After officers were called to the store and the doctor named on the prescription confirmed he didn’t write it for Romero, Romero was arrested and charged, according to police. When Romero was taken into custody, he was found to be in possession of two more forged prescriptions, police said.

Romero, 54, of the Bronx, was charged with three counts of second-degree forgery, illegally obtaining drugs and conspiracy to possess a controlled substance, according to police. His bond was set at $1,000, and he was given a court date of Jan. 6, police said.
