Man Hit Party Guest With Shovel, Brandished Gun: Fairfield Police
The victim was treated for a suspected concussion and head trauma at a nearby hospital, according to Fairfield police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A party host is accused of hitting one of his guests in the head with a fireplace shovel and brandishing a gun, according to Fairfield police.
Brandon Michael Weiner turned himself in Jan. 5 after learning there was a warrant for his arrest, police said. He is charged with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct, according to police.
The assault happened Oct. 31, when Weiner, 20, was hosting a Halloween party at his home on Pansy Road, police said. When an argument involving several people turned physical, Weiner hit a party guest in the back of the head with the shovel and displayed the firearm, according to police. The victim was treated for a suspected concussion and head trauma at St. Vincent's Medical Center, police said.

Investigators found evidence of the fireplace shovel, but not of the gun, according to police, who said Weiner denied the allegations.
Weiner is free on a promise to appear in court and is scheduled to be arraigned Jan. 26, according to court records.
