Man Recorded Trying Doors At Fairfield Car Dealer, Flees Police

As officers tried to approach the man, he fled, likely crossing the nearby train tracks into Bridgeport, according to Fairfield police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A man evaded police after he was recorded in a surveillance video attempting to open car doors over the weekend at a Fairfield dealership, according to law enforcement.

About 12:30 a.m. Monday, a video alarm went off at Devan Infiniti of Fairfield, 26 Commerce Drive, police said. The video captured a man in a hoodie trying car handles in the gated parking lot, according to police.

When officers arrived at the scene, they saw the suspect walk out from behind the dealership building, but as police tried to approach the man, he fled, running across Commerce Drive and likely over the nearby train tracks into Bridgeport, law enforcement said.

Fairfield and Bridgeport officers searched the area for the man in heavy rain, but did not find him, according to police.
