FAIRFIELD, CT — A man is accused of stealing two mopeds as well as a landscaping trailer that contained more than $10,000 worth of tools, according to Fairfield police.

Freddie Ramos, 29, was arrested March 2 and charged with second-degree larceny and third-degree larceny after a lengthy investigation into the thefts, which occurred in August, police said. The mopeds were stolen from a home on Redfield Road and the trailer was taken from Harris Street, according to police, who said both incidents took place between 1 and 3 a.m.

Ramos used an SUV with a hitch to steal the trailer, which later turned up in Bridgeport, although many of the tools were missing, police said. Photos of the tools were found on Ramos’ cellphone, which was seized by Stratford law enforcement after a separate investigation, according to police. Ramos also used the SUV to steal the mopeds, police said, noting surveillance footage from a Redfield Road residence led them to identify Ramos as the thief.
