The man, who was wanted in South Carolina, was arrested in Fairfield after a traffic stop, according to police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Fairfield traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a man wanted on assault, battery and burglary charges out of state, according to police.
Jovan Domonique Kelly, 25, of Bridgeport, was pulled over about 10:30 a.m. April 21 after his 2007 Chrysler Pacifica ran a stop sign on Brookside Drive, police said. A national criminal database check revealed Kelly had an outstanding warrant from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department in South Carolina, which requested extradition on charges of assault, battery and first-degree burglary, according to police.
Kelly was taken into custody and charged with being a fugitive from justice, as well as failure to obey a stop sign, operating without a license and insufficient insurance, police said. Kelly remains in custody on a $250,000 bond, according to court records, which said his next court date is set for May 20.
