New Coronavirus Cases At 3 Fairfield Schools
For two of the schools, the people who tested positive were already in quarantine. Contact tracing was underway Friday for the third school.
FAIRFIELD, CT — New coronavirus cases were reported Friday at three Fairfield schools.
Community members at Fairfield Warde High School, Stratfield Elementary School and Riverfield Elementary School have tested positive for the virus, according to school district officials.
The new cases at Fairfield Warde and Stratfield both involved people who were previously in quarantine and had not been in their school buildings since Oct. 12, officials said. Contact tracing is underway for the Riverfield case.

“If there is a need for anyone to self-quarantine, they will be contacted directly by a member of
the Fairfield Health Department Contact Tracing Team,” Superintendent Mike Cummings and COVID-19 Health and Safety Compliance Liaison Angelus Papageorge said in a message to parents and staff.
Within the school district, a total of four students and four staff members had the virus as of 4 p.m. Friday, according to district data. Those cases were contained to Fairfield Ludlowe and Fairfield Warde high schools; Stratfield, Riverfield and Holland Hill elementary schools; and the central office. Another 27 students and two staff members had recovered after testing positive.

Additionally, 60 students and staff district-wide were in quarantine Friday. Community members at a total of 14 district sites had tested positive, were in quarantine or both.
