New Pet Supply Warehouse Opens In Fairfield
The business, which is owned and operated by two Fairfield brothers, has several upcoming events planned to celebrate the opening.
FAIRFIELD, CT — A new pet supply store, owned and operated by two Fairfield brothers, has opened on Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield. Pet Pantry Warehouse officially opened the doors to its seventh location at 1876 Black Rock Turnpike last week. There are several upcoming events planned to celebrate the opening. The store, which is owned and operated by brothers Adam and Ari Jacobson, is approximately 3,000 square feet and features a hand-selected range of products and pet food brands that support animal health and well-being. The business is also equipped with a “passionate staff that is thoroughly trained and tested in pet nutrition,” according to a press release.
In early September, Pet Pantry of Fairfield will partner with Adopt-a-Dog (adopt-a-dog.org) to host a private grand-opening "Ribbon Chewing" event for the business community with Fairfield First Selectman Michael Tetreau, Beverly Balaz, President at Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, and Mark Barnhart, Fairfield Director of Community and Economic Development. The following weekend, Saturday, Sept. 8 and Sunday, Sept. 9, Pet Pantry will provide the public with retail discounts and free gift-with-purchase giveaways.
A sampling from the “Bone Bar” with Pet Pantry signature "Barktenders" will be available to shoppers along with activities for kids. The owners say 10 percent of the pre-tax sales at the Fairfield location throughout the Grand Opening Weekend will be donated to Adopt-a-Dog as well as Al’s Angels, a local non-profit that provides support to children and families battling cancer, rare blood disease, natural disasters & severe financial hardship.

Jacobson's family purchased the Pet Pantry brand in 1995 and has turned it into a quality, hyperlocal hub for all pet-related products in Fairfield and Westchester County. The family-owned business prides itself on being community driven and regularly host entertaining fundraising and educational events for customers and families in the community.
Adam and his brother/business partner, Ari Jacobson, moved to Fairfield several years ago to raise their families.
“When deciding to raise our children, both my brother and I looked around at many communities in Fairfield County but none of them were quite like the Town of Fairfield," Ari Jacobson said. “Not only because of the fact that there are 5 miles of beach but rather, it has a rich history of supporting local, family-owned businesses. I love taking my kids to the local bakeries and ice cream shops or out to dinner in some of the great restaurants in town. We enjoy live music downtown and can just hang out at the parks with our pets. So opening one of our pet supply stores in this town, our town, was a natural extension for us"
Both Adam and Ari believe that establishing a local business in the town where one lives and are raising kids in that area is a great way to teach younger generations the value of hard work and the need to invest in the community. Adam and his wife Melissa are parents to 7-year-old twins, Eli and Maya, and Ari and his wife, Marissa, are parents to Jonah (7), Zachary (6) and Sarina (3). Together the families have four dogs; a Norwich Terrier named Cody, a French Bulldog named Gunnie, a Yorkie named Zoe and a Pitbull named Storm.
Pet Pantry customers can expect help selecting the correct pet food and formula to meet their individual animal companions’ needs for optimum health. The vision behind the Pet Pantry brand culture is that a pet should thrive and not just survive.
"The staff at Pet Pantry are all really knowledgeable and extremely helpful," said Suzy Armstrong, a Realtor based in Greenwich. "The customer experience is worth the trip to the store. I stopped shopping online for my dogs after visiting Pet Pantry. I really love the new Raised Right brand that the retailer carries. My dog is more active and seems to be in better health since we transitioned Coco to that brand."
In addition to human-grade dog food options, Pet Pantry’s Fairfield customers will also have access to a self-service pet wash. The pet wash is intended to be a convenience to clients, but will also be a fundraising opportunity for local schools, animal adoption agencies, and other worthy local causes. Anyone interested in the "Petwash Fundraiser" can contact Pet Pantry for details (info@ppwpet.com).
