Looking back to look forward.

The Quick is taking a moment to look back and reflect on a life-changing year. One year ago this week, the Quick closed our doors in response to COVID-19 and the safety of our community. Everything seemed so unknown and as a community we all hunkered down in our homes and hoped for the best. We acknowledge the lives lost due to the pandemic including beloved patrons and volunteers and share our gratitude with frontline workers who have worked so hard to keep us safe.

Through all of this, Quick Center patrons, fans, volunteers, members, supporters, and Fairfield University faculty, staff, and students reminded us of why the arts are so incredibly important to our community. You tuned in for our trial experimentation of the Quick Sessions, bought tickets for our online programs through thequicklive.com, celebrated our 30th birthday with generous gifts, renewed your membership, commented and asked questions of our speakers and guests, emailed our box office to share how much you loved a program, and continued to share your excitement for the day we will be able to re-open to the public. And, thanks to your support of the Quick staying safe, we are able to once again provide spaces for artists with Theatre Fairfield back in the Wien Experimental Theatre for their spring shows and with nora chipaumire’s residency this spring in the Kelley Theatre to create her new opera, NEHANDA.

The Quick continues to be able to support artists and engage in meaningful dialogues online because you engage and support the work we do. So, as we look ahead to a brighter future for all, we share our gratitude for your continued support. We appreciate your patience as we find the safest ways to re-open that ensure our campus community and larger Fairfield County community can come together.
