Nutmeg Book Buzz At The Fairfield Public Library

From the Fairfield Public Library: Summer is a great time to start a new book club. Join us on the first Thursday of each month from July through April to discuss a Nutmeg-nominated, intermediate level book. The first selection is Ratscalibur by Josh Lieb. We will meet on Thursday, July 6 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm in the Children’s Program Room at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road. Participants must register for each session separately. Once you register, borrow a copy of the book. To find out what we are reading each month, look ahead on the online events calendar or find out at the meeting!

The Nutmeg Book Award encourages children in grades 2-12 to read quality literature and to choose their favorite from a list of ten nominated titles. Sponsored by the Connecticut Library Association and the Connecticut Association of School Librarians, the Nutmeg Committee is made up of children's librarians and school library media specialists.

Don’t forget to sign up for this year’s summer reading program, “Build a Better World.” Receive a raffle ticket and a prize for every 200 minutes you read. (Participating in the book club helps you rack up points!) In addition, there are community-building activities you can do to earn raffle tickets, too. There will be raffle prize drawings at the Main and Fairfield Woods Branch Libraries every week. Plus special events all summer long.
