From Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home:

Elaine DelPrete, age 58, of Beacon Falls, a devoted mother and sister, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 28, with her family by her side. She was born in Bridgeport to the late William and Jane (Manley) Brown and was a lifelong area resident.

Despite being the youngest in her family, Elaine was fiercely independent and a warrior, battling stage IV colon cancer for over four years. Elaine’s entire life revolved around family, and her best times were those spent with her children and grandchildren. Her family will always be grateful for her spunky spirit and effortless ability to bring a smile to their faces. She had the secret to the best pastrami sandwich recipe. Elaine adored her favorite cat, Snickers, and always formed a special bond with every animal she met.
